The Salisbury Theatre Department would like to invite you to its fall production of “Our Town.” Performances are 7 p.m. Nov. 7, 8, 9 and 2 p.m. Nov. 10 at Salisbury High School. For ticket information, call 610-797-4107, ext. 2508.
This is one last reminder to all Salisbury Township residents who are veterans or active military: Salisbury Elementary School would be honored if you would join us for breakfast 7:15-8:15 a.m. Nov. 11. After breakfast we invite you to line our front walkway and greet our students as they arrive at school. Please RSVP to bmuschlitz@salisburysd.org by Nov. 1. Students are encouraged to wear red, white and blue on that day.
Salisbury Township has implemented a burn ban until further notice. A high risk of wildfires along with winds will contribute to this danger. No burning will be allowed inside the limits of Salisbury Township.
The SES PTO has a lot going on in November. Nov. 2 is the annual vendor fair held at SHS 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. You could do some early Christmas shopping. While you are there, drop off some clothes at the clothing drive set up near the gym by the athletic booster club.
On Nov. 3, the PTO is holding a “Turn back Time” dance, featuring music from the 80s and 90s. This event runs 3-6 p.m. and is not a drop-off event. It is a great time to show your students how great the music was back then. There will be music, games and awards for the best dressed in 80s and 90s attire. RSVP through the PTO membership tool kit.
The PTO would also like to invite you to its general meeting 6 p.m. Nov. 12.
Join the Salisbury Township Environmental Advisory Council to plant some trees at Franko Park 1 p.m. Nov. 9. All you need to bring are some boots and gloves and you are ready to dig in, literally. Registration is free by emailing Michele Lopez at mlopez@salisburylehighpa.gov. Let’s make this park even more beautiful than it already is.
The Salisbury Township Department of Public Works began its annual leaf clean up this week. If they haven’t been to your street yet, get those leaves out there.
Yard waste drop-offs are open. The Franko site will be open Oct. 31 and Nov. 2. It will not be open on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. Devonshire will be open Nov. 4, 7 and 9. As always, hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. The drop-off centers will close for the season at the end of November.
