Children of the community are invited to trunk or treat at the Schnecksville Fire Company 1-3 p.m. Oct. 26.

Sponsored by Faith Wesleyan Church, the event will feature free snacks, candy, games, pony rides, giant slides and lots of fun.

Unionw Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will host its annual basket social 5-9 p.m. Oct. 25 and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 26.

The kitchen will be open and there will be homemade baked goods for sale.

The event will feature a large number of baskets on a variety of themes.

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, will have a walk-in basket social from 5-8 p.m. Nov. 1 and from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 2.

Baskets may include sports commemorative, children’s toys, kitchen items, pet needs, tools, school supplies, holiday decorations, books, gardening equipment and many other themes.

Plenty of food will be available to purchase for take out. There will also be a nice selection of homemade baked goods.

The Auxiliary of Northern Valley EMS, NOVA, will be baking pies for sale on Election Day.

Choose from cherry, peach, blueberry or shoofly pies, breads and cinnamon bun pull aparts.
