Egypt/Cementon: Aerobic class set for Oct. 24

Aerobic fitness classes will be offered 6-7 p.m. Oct. 24 at Egypt Memorial Park, 4540 Hillcrest Lane. All fitness levels are welcome.

Bring water, a mat or towel and a set of dumbbells. There is a cost.

Whitehall Township has scheduled trick-or-treat night for 6-8 p.m. Oct. 25, with a rain date of 6-8 p.m. Oct. 26.

A free Ironton Rail Trail fall historical walk is set for 9 a.m. Oct. 26 starting at the Whitehall Parkway barn, 4041 Chestnut St.

This guided 7-mile walk will pass 23 historical sites important to the American Industrial Revolution. Allow approximately four hours to complete the tour. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water.

Egypt Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293, 5209 Springmill Road., will be hosting concerts by Stage Devils Oct. 26, Uncle Smiley Duo Oct. 31, TKB Trio Nov. 1, James Supra Band Nov. 2, Alias Nov. 8 and Lou Franco Nov. 9. All concerts begin 7 p.m.

Stop in at the Egypt VFW 6 p.m. Nov. 7 for dinner and stay for a concert by singer-songwriter Mike Sherer, starting 7 p.m.

Concert admission is free for members, but there is a cost for guests and nonmembers.

Egypt VFW is hosting two crafty workshops in November.

A pumpkin succulent workshop will be held 3-4 p.m. Nov. 2. Make a Christmas tree, snowman or seascape 2 p.m. Nov. 16.

Egypt VFW is planning Veterans Day events. The VFW will celebrate with music by Two of a Kind 12:30 p.m. Nov. 11. This is a members-only event.

Warrior Brotherhood Motorcycle Club will be at the VFW 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 11 collecting frozen turkeys for distribution to veteran families in need. Your donated turkey will be distributed by Valor Clinic Foundation.

Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 4456 Main St., Egypt, invites all to its annual basket party. to be held 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Nov. 2 and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 3.

Guests with disabilities are invited to attend at any time, but 9-10 a.m. Nov. 2 is reserved especially for them.

Tickets will be on sale Oct. 26 and 27 after all Masses or at the door on the days of the event.

Homemade food will be served throughout the event.

The drawing will begin 2 p.m. Nov. 3. No need to be present to win. Prizes will be available for pickup the evening of Nov. 3 and in the afternoon Nov. 4.

Egypt Community Church, 4129 S. Church St., will be holding a prayer vigil for our nation 7-8 p.m. Nov. 4 in the sanctuary. There will be no speakers, music or politics — just prayer.

All are invited.

Veterans Day ceremonies will be held Nov. 11.

• 9:30 a.m.: Cementon Veterans Memorial on Main Street

• 10 a.m.: Doughboy Memorial at Park and South Church streets, Egypt

• 10:30 a.m.: Egypt Park Veterans Memorial, Hillcrest Lane and Curt Simmons Drive

• 11:30 a.m.: Whitehall Veterans Memorial, Whitehall Township building, 3219 MacArthur Road. Participants include Egypt VFW, Fullerton American Legion, Hokendauqua American Legion and the Whitehall Police Honor Guard.

• 12:30 p.m.: VFW Post 7293 at 5209 Springmill Road, Cementon

All orders must be submitted by Dec. 1. Gift cards will be ready for pickup at the church by Dec. 8.

Additionally, the youth group is running a clothing drive. Members are accepting new or gently used men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, shoes, belts, purses, bed and bath linens and stuffed animals. They cannot accept quilts, comforters, pillows or blankets. Shoes must be bagged separately.

All clean, wearable clothing and shoes are distributed for people in need. Drop off your items in the enclosed porch in the rear of the church. The clothing drive will continue into June 2025.

Egypt Memorial Park, 4540 Hillcrest Lane, is accepting new and unwrapped toys and monetary donations for Toys for Tots at the snack stand 5-7 p.m. Nov. 13 and 20 and Dec. 4.
