Lehigh County Open Gate Farm Tours Oct. 19 and 20 Noon to 5 p.m.
Open Gate Farm Tours have been a local tradition for more than four decades! Each year farms throughout Lehigh County “open their gates” to the public to help educate the community on exactly what they do.
Come discover the wide array of farms that are growing fruits and vegetables, making cheese and yogurt, training horses, raising alpacas and so much more.

1. Heidel Hollow Farm (Sunday Only), 7419 Saegersville Road, Germansville.
Heidel Hollow Farm is a Bicentennial Family Farm continually operated since 1750.
Their retail farm market has a wide selection of pumpkins, mums, apples, and other produce. The day of the tour will feature a food court as well as children’s activities.
There will also be demonstrations of their cutting-edge hay processing equipment.
Wagon-ride tours of the farm will be available throughout the day.
2. Weisenberg Lowhill Township Historical Society (Sunday Only), 4585 Werleys Corner Road, New Tripoli.
Previously a working farm and hotel, this location now serves as the Weisenberg Lowhill Township Historical Society. Their main headquarters and several outbuildings house local artifacts, memorabilia, and farm equipment to preserve the history and culture of the Pennsylvania Germans. Events are geared toward providing a place where people can gather to learn about the history of the area and farming community.
3. Lyon Creek Farm, 3502 Blacksmith Road, New Tripoli.
Lyon Creek Farm is a family-owned and operated farm with four generations growing and harvesting season fruits and vegetables that are sold at their farm stand.
4. Weathered Vineyards, 7670 Carpet Road, New Tripoli.
Weathered Vineyards is a family-owned working vineyard that produces over 15 tons of wine grapes used by the on site boutique winery.
5. The Gress Mountain Ranch (Sunday Only), 3264 Highland Road, Orefield.
The Gress Mountain Ranch is in its 25th year as a forever home for over 100 small, large, and exotic animals. Their mission is “Animals Helping People and People Helping Animals.”
6. Crooked Row Farm, 3245 Route 309, Orefield.
Crooked Row Farm is a woman-owned eight-acre certified organic farm. They grow many of their vegetables and are home to 200 laying hens.
7. Historic Haines Mill Museum, 3600 Haines Mill Road, South Whitehall.
The Haines Mill has stood on Cedar Creek since Colonial times (circa 1850) when it operated as a water-powered flour mill. Mills like this played an important role in early agriculture by grinding wheat, oats, rye, corn, and barley into flour and animal feed.
8. Hausman Fruit Farm, 2824 Limeport Pike, Coopersburg.
Hausman Fruit Farm is a fifth generation 100-acre farm. During Open Gate they will offer pick-your-own apples and pumpkins, antique and modern farm machinery on display, pony rides, and goat snuggling.
9. Kraussdale Alpacas, 5169 Kraussdale Road, East Greenville.
The Kraussdale Alpacas farm raises alpacas and produces yarn from their fiber. Visitors can browse through the Alpaca Boutique to see all the different ways alpaca fiber is used.
10. November Farms, 1048 Mill Hill Road, East Greenville.
This family farm invites visitors to view their Scottish Highland cows, Valais Blacknose sheep, horses, pigs, quail, and ducks. Treats available to feed animals. An observational working honeybee hive can be safely viewed from inside their barn.
