Zephyr Roundup Field hockey falls, EPC cross country takes place
The Whitehall field hockey team made it to the EPC playoffs but had a tough task in traveling to Nazareth.
The girls kept it close at the half, but eventually the Blue Eagles pulled away to win 3-1.
Lydia Keppel scored for the Zephs in the first half to help Whitehall tie it by halftime 1-1. Emma Kunkle scored on an assist by Ava DePeitro in the first half for Nazareth.
But Olivia Seidel and Gianna Perillo would score in the second half to help Nazareth pull away. DePietro assisted on Seidel’s goal.
Lilianna Trocki was good in net for Whitehall, saving 13. Teagan Moore had two saves for the Eagles.

The EPC cross country meet took place on Tuesday at DeSales.
Marli Jacobus led the way for the Zephs taking 37th for the girls with a time of 22:22.4. Ashley Mendoza was 51st for the girls in 23:23.0.
The boys were led by Aiden Borkenhagen who was 71st. He had a time of 19:45.9. Habib Leyos was 79th in 20:06.0.
