Gloria Scharer, 81, of Macungie, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her two sons, Karl and Kevin and her sister, Patricia, Oct. 10, 2024. Born in Macon, Ga., she resided in the Lehigh Valley for the last 54 years.

She earned her nursing license from St. Francis School of Nursing in Trenton, N.J. She was employed by various nursing agencies, her last employment being the Lehigh Valley Eye Bank where she retired.

She is survived by sons, Kevin, Karl and his wife, Shelley; grandchildren, Alex, Austin, Abigayle, Raleigh, Reid, Kylie Alex, Tyler. She is predeceased by her husband, Gerald; daughter, Amy; granddaughter, Karlyn; parents, Cazmir and Opel Pogorzelski.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Oct. 21 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown. A visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. in the church. Arrangements were made by Bachman, Kulik and Reinsmith Funeral Home, Emmaus.
