Calling all Salisbury veterans

Salisbury Elementary School would like to invite any Salisbury resident who is a veteran or in active military duty to a breakfast 7:15-8:15 a.m. Veterans Day, Nov. 11. The event will be held at SES, 1400 Gaskill Ave., Allentown. After breakfast, the school would be honored if veterans would line the main walkway and greet students as they arrive for school. Please RSVP to bmuschlitz@salisburysd.org by Nov. 1 to reserve your seat.

SES is changing things up a little this October. Students are encouraged to dress up as a favorite book character for the school’s dress-up event Oct. 25. There will still be a parade around the parking lot with second, third and fourth grades walking 9:45 a.m. and kindergarten and first grade walking 10:45 a.m.

Salisbury Township schools will have an early dismissal Oct. 18. Salisbury High School and Salisbury Middle School will dismiss 12:15 p.m. SES will dismiss 1:15 p.m.

Oct. 18 is also SMS picture retake day, so if you don’t like your pictures or weren’t in school on picture day, bring your pictures or order form to school.

Salisbury Township trick-or-treat night will be held 6-8 p.m. Oct. 25.

It’s time to clean out those closets. The Salisbury Athletic Booster Club is holding a clothing drive fundraiser Nov. 2. You can drop items off at the SHS auxiliary gym 9 a.m. to noon. For a complete list of acceptable items, visit www.clothingdrive.net.

The Salisbury Falcon Twirlers are holding a Fashion and Flavor bingo fundraiser. This event is Nov. 10 at SMS. Doors will open noon with bingo starting 1 p.m. Tickets are sold at a discount if purchased in advance. For more information and to purchase tickets, contact salisburytwirlingboosters@gmail.com.

The SES PTO is hosting a fall craft and vendor fair 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 2 at SHS, 500 E. Montgomery St., Allentown. Vendors are encouraged to contact Vanessa at BandVLaible@gmail.com.

The Salisbury Township Public Works Department is starting its curbside branch collection. During the week of Oct. 14, place your bundled branches at the curb. They may only be up to 5-feet-long and 5-inches in diameter. Small twigs may be placed in an open topped container, not bags. Each residence is only permitted up to six bundles/containers.

Yard waste drop-offs are open. The Franko site will be open Oct. 17, 19 and 28. Devonshire will be open Oct. 21, 24 and 26. As always, hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
