Barbara M. Bechtold, 83, of Walnutport and formerly of Catasauqua, died Oct. 6, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Charles “Bull” Bechtold.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Elaine (Kingcaid) Steckel.

She was a 1959 graduate of Catasauqua High School.

She worked as a nurse. She also worked for A&P, Catasauqua, and Fox Hollow Golf Course before retiring from Lehigh Career and Technical Institute, Schnecksville.

She was a lifelong and active member of Salem United Church of Christ, Catasauqua, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and serving as an elder.

She is survived by two sons, Chris and Kevin Schuler; four grandchildren, Kevin Schuler Jr., Tyler Schuler, Cody Schuler and Sonya Mora and husband Richard; a great-grandson, Lincoln Mora; an aunt, Faye Cyphers; and two cousins, Alice and Megan Moyer.

Services will be private.
