Tiger golfers compete in Colonial League Tourney

Northwestern golfers competed in Monday’s Colonial League Championship Tournament.

Coly Dynda finished tied for seventh in a 44-player boys field Monday at Bethlehem Municipal Golf Course. The sophomore shot 81 and was one stroke away from a tie for fifth place and an automatic berth into District 11 Championships.

Dynda made 10 pars, six bogeys and two double-bogeys to finish 10-over par. He shot 38 on the back nine and 43 on the front, where his doubles came on holes 7 and 8. He bounced back with pars on his next three holes and played his next seven holes at 1-over par.

Tiger senior Addison Remaley and junior Avri Chandler tied for sixth place in the girls tournament with scores of 95. Teammate Gracie Scheffler, a senior, was right behind in eighth place with a 98.

The players will now try to qualify for the district tournament next week at a qualifying tournament Monday at Northampton Country Club. The top half of the boys field next week will advance to the championships, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 1 at the Steel Club. Girls need to shoot under 100 at the qualifier to move on to districts.
