The Emmaus High School girls volleyball team split a pair of Eastern Pennsylvania Conference matches last week, falling for just the second time during the 2024 regular season by getting swept by Parkland in straight sets last Tuesday night at home. The Green Hornets then went on the road and took down Whitehall in straight sets on Thursday night.
Emmaus is now 11-2 overall and 10-2 in the conference, a top-five team in the league.
In the match against the Trojans, the Green Hornets fell by scores of 18-25, 17-25 and 19-25. Maleya Hinds finished with nine kills and Cirrae-Cuffy recorded five kills. Haley Seidel tallied 14 digs and one ace.
Emmaus followed up that set back with a victory, getting back in the win column. In the win over the Zephyrs, Alyssa Heffner contributed 29 assists, six digs and two kills. Amanda Rivera notched 11 kills and four digs. Cuffy tallied five kills and four blocks. Hinds added 11 kills and Rosie Landino finished with five kills.
Emmaus has a busy week this week as it hosted Allen this past Monday before taking on Bethlehem Catholic in a nonconference match Tuesday and then faces Dieruff Wednesday. The Green Hornets welcome Central Catholic on Monday night before finishing the regular season on the road at Parkland next Wednesday night.
