Fogel leads girls XC to first win

The Salisbury cross country teams’ seasons are winding down with just two regular season meets left after Tuesday’s meet at Lehighton.

The Salisbury boys team was 2-12 entering this week while the girls team came into the penultimate week of the regular season at 1-12-1.

Salisbury hosted a multi-team meet on Sept. 10. The boys team went 0-4 at the meet, while the Falcon girls got their first win of the season while going 1-3.

Lydia Fogel led the Salisbury girls team with a 34th-place finish. Teammates Rachel McKelvey (53rd), Soledad Lausch (54th), Shelby Tenzer (55th) and Samantha Conrad (56th) also finished in the team’s top five at the meet.

Cameron Kubinsky led the Salisbury boys team with a 37th-place finish, with Gregory Tenzer (38th), Emerson Juhasz (44th), Joshua Orach (62nd) and Rafael Carpo (80th) rounding out Falcons’ the top five. Riley Nemitz (87th) and Jonah Nemitz (96th) also competed in the meet for Salisbury.

The Falcons boys team went 1-2 at meet at Pen Argyl last week.

Juhasz (32nd) and Tenzer (33rd) finished just 11 seconds apart, while teammates Kubinsky (41st), Orach (64th) and Carpo (83rd) rounded out the team scoring.

In the girls meet, Fogel led the Falcons with a 27th-place finish, with Conrad (45th), Lausch (48th) and Tenzer (49th) also competing at the meet.

After this week’s meet in Lehighton, Salisbury will compete at Palisades on Oct. 1 and cap the season at Northwestern on Oct. 8. the Colonial League Championships are scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 16 at DeSales.
