Conservation event set for Oct. 12

Wildlands Conservancy and the Little Lehigh Watershed Stewards will hold a tree and shrub planting conservation project 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 12 along the Little Lehigh Creek, Macungie.

Participants will work together to plant 95 native trees and shrubs in a riparian buffer installation. The goals of the project include enhancing water quality, preventing erosion and providing habitat for local wildlife.

Volunteers should wear long pants and closed-toed shoes suitable for outdoor work. Participants also may want to bring bug repellent.

Participants will meet in the area of 2120 Mill Creek Road, Macungie.
