Trocki breaks records, honored

Senior Maddie Trocki broke both the career goals and career points record with three goals leading the DeSales University field hockey team past Kean University, 5-1.

This is DeSales’ first-ever win over Kean in seven career meetings. The Cougars were a National semifinalist in the NCAA Tournament last season.

The Bulldogs scored first 12:42 into the game as Trocki received a ball near the midfield line, beat a Cougar defender, creating a 1-v-1 with the keeper, firing a shot into the cage for her record breaking 45th career goal and 111th career point.

Trocki scored the second goal on a blast from the top of the circle off a feed from fellow senior Delani Remp.

Junior Nikki Chiaradia scored the third on a rebound of a saved Trocki shot and Trocki tallied a hat trick with her third, a carbon copy of the first taking a pass near midfield, beating the Cougar defense and goal for an open cage goal.

Trocki now has 47 career goals and 115 career points, ranking first all-time in both categories.
