Officers from Salisbury Township Police Department joined with law enforcement agencies across the country Oct. 2 in National Coffee With a Cop activities to promote better community relations between police and the people they serve.
The local coffee klatch was held at Daisy Hill Kitchen and Grill, which has stood at the intersection of Susquehanna Street and Emmaus Avenue for 20 years.
Since its inception in 2011, nationally held Coffee with a Cop events have served to build trust and help foster a sense of camaraderie in communities large and small. From huge cities to small farming towns, local police agencies have embraced the events as a way to connect with its residents and get to know each other over a cup of coffee.
“We look forward to these opportunities to get closer to the residents we serve,” Salisbury Police Department Chief Donald Sabo said. “Whether they have complaints, compliments or questions about our community policing efforts, these events give us a great opportunity to meet face-to-face and get to know each other in a meaningful way.”
