L.V. Active Life offering various classes

Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 W. Elm St., Allentown, will offer the following dances 7-10 p.m. in the Trexler Room.

The per person fee includes refreshments.

·Oct. 12: “KATO”

·Oct. 19: “Johnny K”

They will also be offering the following dance 1-3 p.m. in the Trexler Room.

·Oct. 23: “Johnny K”

The center will also offer the following dance classes.

·Oct. 10, 17, 24 and 31: Advanced Line Dancing led by instructor Cathy Seidel, noon.

·Oct. 14, 21 and 28: Beginner Line Dancing with instructor Peggy Sue Tobias, 12:30 p.m.

·Oct. 15, 22 and 29: Beginner Tap with instructor Grace Conti, 9 a.m.

The following creative arts classes will also be offered.

·Oct. 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28 and 30: Arts and Crafts led by Trisha Baker, 9-11 a.m.

·Oct. 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25 and 30: Suzanne Bauder’s Art for Everyone, noon.

Help is available. New and advance students are welcome.

·Oct. 10, 17, 24 and 31: Knit and Chat group, 9 a.m.

Stop in, work on your own projects, knit, crochet or embroider.

·Oct. 14, 21 and 28: Drawing led by instructor Judy Peters, 9:30 a.m.

Learn how to draw with pencils in this introductory class to composition, outlining and shading.

·Oct. 15, 22 and 29: Instructor Bonny Batman’s ceramics, 9 a.m. Price includes paints.

·Oct. 10, 17, 24 and 31: Junk Journaling/Book Making with instructor Jean Burd, 9:30 a.m.

Bring glue sticks, magazines, scissors and scrapbooking supplies.

·Oct. 18: Card making with instructor Natalie Papp, 9:30 a.m.

Make your own cards for all and any occasion.

Three cards per class (usually).

Bring any supplies you want to use.

They have some supplies too.

The following classes will be offered.

·Oct. 10, 17, 24 and 31: Instructor Ray Royer’s photography composition basics, 12:30 p.m.

Learn how to improve your photography using cellphone or any camera.

·Oct. 28: “Lehigh People with Parkinson’s” moderator is Dave Rivera, 4 p.m.

The support group empowers people with Parkinson’s and their caretakers on their journey to live their best lives.

The following exercise classes will be offered.

·Oct. 14, 21 and 28: Barre with instructor Michele Fisher, 10:15 a.m.

A low impact toning class that blends the principals of Pilates, yoga, strength training and ballet to activate your entire body.

·Oct. 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28 and 30: “Zumba” led by instructor Grace Conti, 9:30 a.m.

Dancers and non-dancers will enjoy this Latin inspired, dance fitness class, which is designed for seniors.

·Oct. 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29 and 31: Zumba with instructor Ed Nickles, 9 a.m.

·Oct. 10, 17, 24 and 31: Mat Pilates led by instructor Michele Fisher, 10:30 a.m.

A strengthening and lengthening form of exercise that focuses on the core (abdomen and lower back) muscles.

·Oct. 11, 18 and 25: Tai Chi For Balance with instructor Bob Donnelly (Pai Ma Shen), 10:30 a.m.

A holistic exercise that helps reduce stress and promote physical well-being using slow flowing movement to coordinate breath and enhance strength, balance and calmness.

·Oct. 11, 14, 18, 21, 25 and 28: Fit Circuit led by instructor Sara Mercer, 12:30 p.m.

This low impact circuit style class, featuring upbeat choreography mixed with strength training, is a great overall cardio workout.

·Oct. 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 28, 29 and 30: Every weekday lunch meal, 11:30 a.m. Trexler Room.

There is a small fee for those age 60 and over.

Choice of hot or cold entrée.
