Crafters and vendors needed for fair Nov. 2

Salisbury Township is seeking crossing guards for the current school year.

Guards must be available one hour in the morning and afternoon Monday through Friday. Applications and information are available on the township website: salisburytownshippa.org under job openings.

Oct. 14 is a professional development day for Salisbury Township School District teachers, which means there will be no school for students. School will reopen Oct. 15.

The next school board meeting is scheduled 7 p.m. Oct. 16 at the administration building, 1140 Salisbury Road.

The Pool Wildlife Sanctuary will host a Hoot Hike 8-9:30 p.m. Oct. 18. Hikers will walk through the sanctuary to meet owls native to the Lehigh River Watershed. There will be time for s’mores and questions after the hike. There is a fee for this event and registration is required. For more information and to register, visit the website www.wildlandspa.org.

Salisbury Elementary School will hold its annual craft and vendor fair 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 2 at Salisbury High School, 500 E. Montgomery St. Organizers are currently looking for vendors and crafters. If interested, contact Vanessa Laible at BandVLaible@gmail.com.

The Salisbury Athletic Booster Club will hold a clothing drive 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 2.

Bring your unwanted clothing and other household items to the SHS auxiliary gym and help the booster club. A list of items accepted is available on clothingdrive.net.

The truck will pick up donations between noon and 1 p.m.

The Salisbury Twirlers will host a “Fashion and Flavor” bingo Nov. 10. Doors open noon and bingo starts 1 p.m. There is a cost for tickets and advance tickets are discounted. The township yard waste drop-off sites are open. The Devonshire site will be open Oct. 10 and 12 and the Franko site will be open Oct. 14, 17 and 19. Sites are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
