Ruth D. Kiefer, 86, of Allentown, died October 3, 2024, at home. Born in Fountain Hill, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Florence (Ruhe) Shannon. She was the wife of the late George H. Kiefer Sr.

She was a teacher’s aide for the Bethlehem School District for many years. She played bingo and attended to the senior center to hang out with her friends.

She is survived by three sons, George, Raymond and wife Patricia and Barry and wife Cheryl; a daughter, Susan Polgar and husband Stephen; a brother, James Shannon; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Miller and Lina Shanno-Nee-Glass; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were made by Connell Funeral Home Inc., Bethlehem.
