My friend and I took my son, James, to bingo. In retrospect, it did not go well. Mostly it was an issue of timing.
We were supposed to be done around 1 p.m. in theory, plenty of time for us to go home and for James to log onto some online live event. It did not work out that way.
This caused James to have a complete meltdown. I dug in my heels and said we were not leaving early. But I can’t say we had fun. At one point, I looked at my friend and said, “Aren’t you glad you don’t have kids.” Probably not the best thing to say.
In the way of kids everywhere and a few hours later, we were on to the next thing and everything was fine.
I love my kids. But sometimes, it’s hard to like them. I think that’s how every parent must feel sometimes.
