Police arrested Elvis Miguel Perez, 34, of Bethlehem, in the shooting death of a man in South Whitehall Township Oct. 4.
According to a release from Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan, several residents in the 3439 Cambridge Circle neighborhood observed a man acting suspiciously, running through yards, and one reported hearing two gunshots and seeing a man flee the residence.
Just after 6 p.m. first responders found 56-year-old Christopher E. Potter in his bathroom with two bullet wounds, which soon proved fatal.
Police found Perez about an hour after the shooting, and a handgun of the same caliber as the shell casings in Potter’s home was found in a garbage can nearby.
Perez is charged with homicide, possession of firearms and possession of a firearm with altered manufacturer’s number.
