Carole C. Valtos, 82, formerly of Schnecksville, died Oct. 5, 2024, in the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, Scranton.

She was the wife of the late Paul P. Valtos who died in 2022.

Born March 11, 1942, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of the late George and Estelle (Rusin) Kalafut.

She was employed in the Information Technology Department for the County of Lehigh for many years before retiring.

She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield, where she faithfully volunteered her time wherever needed.

She enjoyed traveling, especially with her family.

Her survivors include children Carolyn V. Espe (Scott) of Minot, N.D., Christian M. Valtos (Samantha) of Nazareth, and Eric P. Valtos (Andrea) of Hewitt, N.J.; brother Kenneth Kalafut of Temple, Texas; brother-in-law Peter Valtos (Nancy) of Moosic Lake; granddaughters Grace, Lia and Charlotte; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sisters Veronica Devereux, and Sister Grace Ann Kalafut.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Oct. 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 1046 W. Cedar St., Allentown.

The Rev. Fr. Nikolai R. Brelinsky will be the celebrant

Family and friends may pay their respects 10-11 a.m. Friday in the church narthex.

A private interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
