HARVEST FEST: Howie Day is the headlining act Oct. 12 at this year’s Harvest Fest, known for its vibrant atmosphere in downtown historic Bethlehem, delicious food and live entertainment.

In addition to Day’s performance, Harvest Fest will feature a variety of other attractions, including:

• Food & Beverage Galore: Indulge in local beer, soup and wine trails, as well as delicious food truck options and downtown restaurants.

• Live Entertainment: Enjoy the sounds of the season on both the North and South Stages.

• Family-Friendly Fun: Participate in a variety of activities for all ages.

• Local Vendors: Shop for unique crafts, treats, and one-of-a-kind items from local vendors.

Other bands scheduled to perform at Harvest Fest include Emma Bockrath, The Audio Files, Pentley Homes and The Wonton Soups.

FIRE PREVENTION WEEK: City of Bethlehem Fire Department. The theme is “Smoke Alarms: Make them work for you.” The department will partner with the American Red Cross in a “Sound the Alarm” event on Oct. 12. The two organizations will canvass neighbors, knocking on doors to ensure that dwellings have working smoke alarms and educating people about home fire safety.

FLU SHOTS: Flu season is right around the corner, and Lehigh Valley Health Network will administer free influenza vaccinations for the 27th straight year for adults and children ages 6 months and older during two drive-thru flu shot clinics in November. Vaccines will be administered at Dorney Park in Allentown Nov. 2, and Lehigh Valley Hospital – Hecktown Oaks in Lower Nazareth Township on Sunday, Nov. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

Those planning to receive a flu shot during LVHN’s November drive-thru vaccination clinics should wear loosefitting clothing so the shot can be administered in the arm or the leg for children under 2 years of age.
