Strawberry Acres developer appeals North Whitehall Twp plan denial

By MICHAEL HIRSCH

Special to The Press

There was an announcement at the beginning of the North Whitehall supervisors Sept. 9 meeting that the board met in executive session on Aug. 5 to discuss litigation matters regarding the Strawberry Acres Plan.

Supervisors had previously rejected the plan.

“They are appealing our decision,” Supervisor Al Geosits explained.

In other matters, Chloe Pauls was hired as the new recreation and communications coordinator.

She was selected from more than 110 applicants, according to Township Manager Randy Cope.

She impressed the interviewers with her maturity, experience and positive attitude.

Pauls has experience as an assistant softball coach and executive tournament director for TNT softball, where she managed more than 200 teams and did the scheduling.

She started her new position on Sept. 16.

The board approved $28,380 to engage a consultant for an independent traffic study for the Nexus 78 land development at 4363 Orefield Road.

The consultant will analyze traffic volumes, trip generations and the impact of the development on the local road network.

Focus will be on several intersections and will include data collection, traffic analysis and conceptual improvement sketches.

The cost of the study will be covered by the traffic impact fee.

North Whitehall supervisor, planning commission, and zoning hearing board meetings will be held in LCCC’s Lisa Jane Scheller, Community Services Center Building, 4525 Education Park Drive, Schnecksville, Building 7, for the duration of the renovation of the municipal building renovations. Township Manager Randy Cope said renovations are on schedule and substantial completion is expected on or around June 30, 2025.PRESS PHOTO BY MICHAEL HIRSCH
