Local students

arrive on campus

The following local residents join the academically-minded Class of 2028 at Albright College, Reading.

Allentown: Miguel Balcazar, a graduate of Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School, is studying psychology in pursuit of a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Breinigsville: Oghenekevwe Duke, a graduate of Parkland High School, is studying Alpha in pursuit of a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Kutztown: Kaley Nawrocki, a graduate of Kutztown Area Senior High School, is studying sociology/criminology in pursuit of a Bachelor of Arts degree and Hayden Stump, a graduate of Kutztown Area Senior High School, is studying psychology and early childhood education in pursuit of a Bachelor of Arts degree.

The Class of 2028 joins the Reading community from both coasts, 14 different states and 10 countries - including Germany, Ghana, Italy, Macau S.A.R., Nepal, Portugal, Switzerland, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.

More than a third will compete as Division III varsity athletes and 47% will be the first in their families to attend college.

Fifty-three percent are students of color, 27 identified as National Honor Society members and 36 speak at least two languages.

Seventy-nine percent plan to take advantage of the college’s distinctive co-major program, which enables students to cross or combine different programs, without taking longer to graduate.
