Carol Gonzalez named Unsung Hero

This spring, the Lehigh County Office and Aging and Adult Services presented a program in the Zentz Center at Fellowship Community, Whitehall, recognizing senior citizens for their contributions to the quality of life in the county.

Lifelong Girl Scout Carol Gonzalez, 80, of Allentown, was one of 19 older adults awarded the title of Unsung Hero.

Recipients were chosen by friends, families and organizations for their dedication and talents during the past year.

The program was coordinated by Jessica Yaich, program analyst, Aging and Adult Services for Lehigh County.

Lehigh County Executive Phil Armstrong, JR Reed, Office of Aging and Adult Services, and Artur DiLoreto, former deputy director, Pa. Association of Area Agencies on Aging were the presenters at the Unsung Heroes Awards 2024.
