To be a part of ACCHS Viking middle school basketball for seventh and eighth grade boys, contact Dennis Csensits at dcsensits@acchs.info or call 610-437-4601, ext. 119. Boys basketball youth clinics for fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grade students will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Oct. 15 and 29 in Rockne Hall. Participants must be enrolled at one of ACCHS partner schools and participate in CYO basketball.

A branch of the nationwide Aevidum Club was created at ACCHS last year. Aevidum means “I’ve got your back” and the club encourages students to end the silence surrounding mental health and support any classmates with mental health struggles.

Central Catholic’s Aevidum Club helped students start the school year in good spirits by chalk decorating the sidewalk by the school entrance with positive messages.

Every school year, ACCHS Campus Ministry chooses a faith inspired theme. The theme for the 2024-2025 school year is “Hope.” This correlates with the theme for the Holy Year, which is “Pilgrims of Hope.”

The campus ministry office is led by Sister Mathilde and Father Maas with Mr. Markham as the coordinator of service and head of the Central City Project.

Members of the Central City Project have been spending hours outside of school preparing Viking salsa to be sold as a fundraiser. Students wash and chop vegetables that were harvested from the Amy Sullivan Memorial Garden. The garden is named after Amy Sullivan, who spent much of her life assisting Catholic schools and near the end of her life dedicated time to ACCHS and the Central City Project garden.

One of Central Catholic’s International Student Agency partners, Nacel Open Door, is in need of a host family for a newly accepted Spanish student for this 2024-2025 school year. The student will join the 12th grade class and enjoys being active and loves skiing. Contact Hope Egolf at hegolf@nacelopendoor.org for more information.
