Crews examine a sink hole in the 700 block of Third Street, Catasauqua. The public works department was called to the site around 10:30 p.m. Sept. 27.

While pipes are being replaced to solve the problem, residents near Third and Liberty streets are under a boil water advisory. Residents are asked to bring water to a rolling boil, let it boil for one minute and let it cool before using it. Bottled water is also recommended.

Work is in full swing to repair the sinkhole and restore the street.
