Richard W. Schlicher, 89, of Emmaus, died peacefully Sept. 22, 2024, surrounded by family at his daughter’s home in Emmaus. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late William C. and Ethel (Stine) Schlicher. He was married to Rita A. (Piccin) Schlicher for 46 years before her death in 2009.

He was employed as a machinist and welder at Spirax/Sarco for 32 years. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps. He was a member of Lehigh Valley Baptist Church in Emmaus.

He is survived by daughters, Brenda, wife of James E. Effting, of Emmaus and Jane, wife of John H. Keet Jr., of Salisbury Township; grandchildren, Joshua and his spouse Mahendi Effting, Patrick Effting, Jessica Keet and companion Renzo, Jenna and her spouse Omar Shehata; great-grandchildren, Noelle, Mia, Penelope and Noah; brother-in-law, Ronald F. Piccin.

He was predeceased by his companion, Christine Buckles.
