Hugh Edward “Ed” Ferry Jr., 80, of Macungie, died Sept. 22, 2024. He was the husband of Susan H. (Rugg) Ferry for 56 years. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Loretta (Howells) and Hugh Edward Ferry Sr.

He was a 1962 graduate of William Allen High School, a 1963 graduate of Fork Union Military Academy and a 1965 graduate of Wesley College and competed in basketball at all three schools.

He was employed in the purchasing department for 33 years at Mack Trucks, Inc. followed by seven years as an operations manager at Allentown Valve & Fitting.

He was an avid golfer, loved fishing and enjoyed tinkering in his woodworking shop.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Karen Brion and her husband, Tim, Diana Dumpel and her husband, Dave, Lisa Williams and her husband, Chris; brother, Pete; eight grandchildren; nieces; cousins.
