Fullerton: Animal blessing set for Oct. 4
In the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave., will hold a Blessing of the Animals service in the church parking lot on Pershing Boulevard 7:45 a.m. Oct. 4. Use the entrance nearest the funeral home, and park in the back rows.
Animals must be on a leash, under the control of their adult owners, or in a closed carrier.
All are welcome.

Fullerton American Legion Post 367 auxiliary will hold a meeting 6:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Post, 609 Fullerton Ave.

St. Elizabeth’s will be holding its 15th annual basket social 5-7 p.m. Oct. 11, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Oct. 12 and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 13 in the parish social hall on Pershing Boulevard.
All baskets and prizes are valued at more than $35. This includes area business donations of show and game tickets and certificates to area restaurants and stores.
The drawing starts 2:30 p.m. Oct. 13. Winners will be called that day or the next.
Delicious food items can be preordered. Food will be available for purchase all weekend. Credit cards are accepted.

To prepare for the basket social, the church is calling all bakers to donate cookies, cakes, muffins, brownies and more for the bake sale.
Names starting with the letters A through M can drop off items after 4:30 p.m. Oct. 11. The N through Z names can drop off their items after 9:30 a.m. Oct. 12.

St. Elizabeth’s has announced CYO basketball and cheerleading registration is now open. Registration will close Oct. 11.
Registration for CYO basketball is for kindergarten and grades 3-8, and cheerleading is for grades 2-8.
