Dennis F. Nemes
Dennis F. Nemes, 76, of Lower Macungie Township, died Sept. 23, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Inpatient Hospice Unit. He was the husband of Barbara (Loush) Nemes for 54 years this past August. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Charles S. and Anna T. (Jozsa) Nemes.
He graduated from Liberty High School and Muhlenberg College, and went on to get his master’s degree from Kutztown University and advance certifications from Lehigh University. He served as an assistant principal at Southern Lehigh Middle School and the principal of Northwestern Lehigh High School for 30 years.
Following his retirement, he served as principal of Allentown Central Catholic High School for three years. He was a member of the board of directors of PA Elementary and Secondary School Principals and was a member of the PA Interscholastic Athletic Association for 30 years from which he received The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association, Inc. “Award of Merit” for his dedicated service.

He was an avid hunter having hunted in Africa and Kodiak Island and the Brooks Range in Alaska. He enjoyed showing people his taxidermy and telling the story of the hunt related to each animal. He and Barbara loved cruising and were fortunate to be able to do, among many others, a four-month world cruise and a cruise to Antarctica.
He enjoyed spending time in California with Scott, Kristi, Brady, Braxton and Delaney and was very proud of them. He particularly enjoyed watching his grandchildren compete in sports and encouraged their success in learning. He lived by the words, “The Lord put us on earth to serve.”
He is survived by his wife; Barbara, son, Scott and his wife, Kristine; grandchildren, Brady, Braxton and Delaney, brother-in-law, Kenneth Loush (Judith), of Bethlehem and nephew, Derek.
