Barktoberfest, a dog-themed fall festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 5 at Grange Park, 360 Grange Road.

There will be a costume contest, demonstrations, vendors, food trucks, music and a K-9 show.

Good Will Fire Co. No. 1, 7723 Hamilton Blvd., Trexlertown, will have a fire prevention open house from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 8.

Come out and meet the local firefighters while enjoying demonstrations.

There will be giveaways and refreshments.

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1028 Church St., Fogelsville, is sponsoring a basket social from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 5.

Preview night will take place 6-8 p.m. Oct. 4.

Tickets may be purchased/placed both days.

Takeout food items will be available only on Saturday.

There will be 75-plus baskets and more than 50 gift cards.

Winners will be drawn at the end of the event and contacted by phone.

All are welcome to attend.

Order apple dumplings ahead of time to ensure availability.
