RuthAnn Scherer, 84, formerly of Allentown, died Sept. 17, 2024, at Fellowship Community where she resided.

She was the wife of the late Lowell T. Scherer.

Born Nov. 5, 1939, in Palmerton, she was the daughter of the late Gordon B. and Esther B. (Schleicher) Henry.

A charge nurse at Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehabilitation, South Whitehall for 15 years, she retired in 1995.

Before that, she was a school nurse at Lehigh County Community College and the former Vo-Tech, Schnecksville, and St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 492, Catasauqua, and Asbury United Methodist Church, South Whitehall.

Her survivors include children J. Scott Scherer (Theodora Lazou) of Whitehall, and Lori A. Pfeiffer and her husband, Keith, of Allentown; daughter-in-law Dee Dee Scherer of Allentown; and grandsons Jonathan, Matthew, Brent and Michael.

She was predeceased by son, Jeffrey R. Scherer; brother, Robert K. Henry; and grandson, Joseph Scherer.
