Kids Roundup Tennis picks up a win
The Northampton girls tennis team was a 6-0 winner over Pocono Mt. East in a recent match.
In singles, Ava Aulisio won by forfeit. Gianna Lorez won in three sets over Sam Christman 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. Claire Lack won 6-0, 6-0 at three singles over Emerson Otto.
At two doubles, Emilee Gaughran and Mya Cruz defeated Gia Hannig and Kelly Smith 6-3, 7-6 (TB 7-1). At three doubles, Lea Fornarotto and Emily Kemmerer were winners over Ava Watson and Erin Toohy 6-3, 6-0. At four, Olivia Hayes and Hayden Nagy earned another win, this time beating Nicole Law and Miriam Thomas in another tight match, 4-6, 6-3 (TB 7-5)
The girls fell 6-1 to Eastburg North.
Mia Rios was a 6-1 winner at two singles, 6-1, 6-4.
Boys Soccer
Northampton knocked off Stroudsburg 4-0.
The boys led just 1-0 at halftime but again pulled away in the second half, scoring three more times.
NHS goals came from Chase Nederostek who scored twice. Sebastian Mello and Carter Kerstetter also scored. Assists in the game went to Dante Keen, Lucas Tovar and Mello.
The boys were a 5-0 winner over Eastburg South.
The Kids scored twice in the first half on goals from Brody Eisenhart and Sebastian Mello. Both goals were assisted by Dante Keen.
NHS added three goals in the second half. Chase Nederostek made it 3-0 on a pass from Eisenhart. Eisenhart would make it 4-0 on a pass from Luca Manino before Aiden Sugra finished the scoring thanks to a pass from Mello.
Ryan Nahf made two saves in the win.
Freedom continued to knock off some of the top EPC teams, and Northampton was another victim, 3-0.
Gino Tello Gonzales, Michael Deluhery and Logal Espinal all scored for the Pates.
Nahf made six saves.
In field hockey, Nazareth was a 2-1 winner, scoring twice in the first half to take the win.
The Eagles outshot NHS 14-5 with 10 corners to Northampton’s five.
Octavia Reichelderfer made 12 saves for the Kids.
Goal scorers for the Eagles were Olivia Seidel and Emma Kunkle, both unassisted.
Northampton’s goal came from MacKenzie Connell and was assisted by Alyssa Chromey.
