John S. Guarini, 72, formerly of Schnecksville, died on Sept. 20, 2024, in Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehabilitation, South Whitehall.

He was the husband of the late Kathleen (Brown) Guarini.

Born Aug. 18, 1952, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John A. and Jeanette A. (Maglio) Guarini.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War era.

A software engineer for Agere Systems Inc., Allentown, for many years, he retired in 2013.

He was an avid Lionel train collector, a bass musician of 40 years, and loved to cook.

He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield.

His survivors include children John F. Guarini of Philadelphia, Greg D. Guarini of Catasauqua, and Kathryn L. Atwood and her husband, Christopher R. Atwood of Portsmouth, Va.; brother Albert Guarini and his wife, Betty, of New Jersey; sister Jeanette Berry and her husband, Chuck, of Philadelphia; grandchildren Zachary and Talia Guarini, and Maverick Atwood; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Gerald J. Guarini.
