This season, Catasauqua’s boys’ soccer team has had hit its share of peaks and valleys.
Beginning this week, the Rough Riders had a 2-9 record and were in the midst of a five-game losing streak.
Yet, head coach Josh Inman has seen his share of rough patches this season.
“We had one of the toughest weeks of our schedule,” noted Inman. “Two weeks ago, we played Moravian Academy and Southern Lehigh and then a Notre Dame Green Pond team that I thought was not very sporting with the way they continued to score deep into the second half.”
Inman saw a better situation with matchups against Palisades and Northern Lehigh, even though the Rough Riders dropped them 3-0, and 5-1 respectively.
“We then had schools with similar records this past week with Palisades and Northern Lehigh, who were both games that we matched up better with,” added Inman. “Palisades was a tough away fixture with a tough situation that left us playing with 10 and led to a loss. We all thought we could have done better.
“Northern Lehigh was a good game, but sadly injuries and a few miscues lead to us giving up goals that we are all sad happened.”
Inman is planning a steady pace. The Roughies will host Notre Dame East Stroudsburg Thursday for their senior night.
“We are focusing on one game at a time,” said Inman. “From here, we are hoping for a change this coming week with our fortunes.”
