By ROSARIA STOOPS

Special to The Press

Anna Edwards from Central Catholic High School, and Maryana Memari and Cody Tahhan from Louis E. Dieruff High School, have been selected to receive Roger and Louise Mullin scholarships from the Rotary Club of Allentown.

Each will receive $3,000 per year for a maximum amount of $12,000 over their four collegiate years beginning in the 2024-25 academic year.

These scholarships are awarded to outstanding students from Allentown high schools who will attend a four-year college or university.

Candidates were evaluated on their community service, leadership skills, academic achievement, financial need and interview skills.

Edwards will attend the College of Holy Cross. Memari and Tahhan will attend Lehigh University.

The late Rotarian Roger W. Mullin Jr., a former chairman of the board of Mack Trucks, presented a scholarship endowment gift to the Allentown Rotary Scholarship Foundation in 1993.

Since the early 1990s, the Rotary Club of Allentown has provided more than $375,000 in scholarships to deserving students.

The club will be celebrating its 110th anniversary this year.
