North Catasauqua: Club plans 2-day basket social

Catasauqua Club, 226 Pine St., will be holding a basket social 5-8 p.m. Sept. 27 and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 28.

Tickets are available at the door.

The next North Catasauqua Borough Council meeting will take place 7 p.m. Oct. 7 in the basement-level meeting room at borough hall, 1066 Fourth St. The meeting will be hybrid, with both in-person and virtual options.

An American Heart Association hands-only CPR/AED training will be held 5-6 p.m. Oct. 10 at borough hall.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church will hold a chicken Marsala dinner Oct. 12. Reservations are required, with 4:30 p.m., 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. seating times.

The reservation deadline is Oct. 6. The cost is by donation.

Suburban North Family YMCA will be having its fall 5K run/1K walk Oct. 12. The run will begin 9 a.m. along the D&L Trail, and the walk starts 11 a.m. at North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, 701 Grove St.

This year’s event will take place at the newly constructed D&L Trail in North Catasauqua and into Northampton. Runners will participate in a 5K run, while walkers will walk three times around the playground.

There will be awards for first-place overall male and female and the top three males and females in each age group. Awards and a picnic will be held at the park pavilion.

The event is held in memory of Debbie Linton, a Catasauqua High School athlete who fought a brave battle against breast cancer.

The 17th annual Best of North Catasauqua Autumnfest is planned for 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 13 at the park, 701 Grove St. There will be a craft and flea vendor market, kids’ activities, food, live music and a car show.

Rain date is Oct. 19.

North Catasauqua Police Department will host Coffee with a Cop 10-11 a.m. Oct. 14 at Taylor Roasted Coffeehouse, 1830 Main St., Northampton. Join the police department on this inaugural community outreach event and enjoy a free 16-ounce cup of hot or iced coffee.

You must be a resident of North Catasauqua to take part in this event.

The annual North Catasauqua and Catasauqua joint Halloween parade is set for 7 p.m. Oct. 16. There will be a new route this year. The parade starts at Sheckler Elementary School on North 14th Street, turns right onto Race Street, right onto Second Street, right onto Bridge Street, left onto Third Street, right onto Pine Street, left onto Fourth Street and right onto Buttonwood Street, ending at the park.

Rain date is Oct. 23.

The police department is making residents aware of a Pennsylvania medical marijuana program seminar that is set for 10 a.m.-noon Oct. 19 at Suburban North Family YMCA, 880 Walnut St., Catasauqua. There is no cost to attend this educational seminar.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 122 Union St., will hold its Fall into Cash bingo Oct. 20 in the parish center. Doors and the kitchen will open 11:30 a.m., with bingo beginning 1 p.m.

Bingo includes 15 games, six specials and one jackpot round. Bring your daubers but no hardboards. No outside food or drinks are permitted; the kitchen will be selling your favorites.

There is a cost.
