District News: Take advantage of various NASD community education classes

Join your community members to have fun, get fit and try something new. The Northampton Area School District community fall education classes are here.

Yoga will be 7-8 p.m. Sept. 30 at the borough Siegfried building. The class is beginner friendly. The cost is $7 for drop-ins.

Aqua aerobics will be held 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through Oct. 22 at the Northampton Area Middle School natatorium. It will be fun workouts in the water and is a great low-impact exercise. The cost is $84 for 12 classes or $8 for drop-ins.

Country line dancing classes will be 7-8 p.m. Tuesdays Oct. 1-22 at the Siegfried building.

Dance It Out will be held 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays Oct. 9-30 at the Siegfried building. The cost is $24 for all four classes or $7 for drop-ins.

Register for any of these at nasdschools.org, under the community tab. You do not need to be a Northampton resident to participate.

Community education programs offer a diverse range of courses that cater to personal interests and promote fitness and leisure activities. Courses are taught by experienced instructors and are reasonably priced.

Lehigh Elementary School PTA will next meet 6:30-8 p.m. Oct. 1 in the cafeteria.

NAMS PTA will meet 5-6 p.m. Oct. 8.

Northampton Borough Elementary Schools PTA will hold its general meeting 4-5 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Siegfried building.

Anyone interested in becoming a committee member is always welcome to attend.

The district facilities committee meeting will be held 6-7 p.m. Oct. 7 in the NAHS library conference room for a public session. Members of the community are welcome to attend.

Northampton Area High School’s picture retake day will be Oct. 9.

There will be no school Oct. 14 due to a professional development day.

Be sure to update your child’s information. This includes all phone numbers, emergency contacts and numbers, email addresses, text numbers and permissions for field trips and photos for the 2024-25 school year.

Visit the district website, nasdschools.org, for many important forms you may need. There are many helpful forms/important links for students and parents/guardians on all platforms.

You can also download the new Northampton Area School District app. The app will allow parents/guardians to access documents, events, news updates and emergency notifications.

Students in grades 10-12 can prepare to order their class ring soon. Only a deposit is needed to begin your order.
