Dedication for new firehouse Sept. 28
It’s officially fall and that means football continues, fundraisers are in full force and … we are almost half way through the first marking period.
Salisbury Middle School will hold its back to school open house 6:45-8:30 p.m. Sept. 26.
The Salisbury High School Key Club, advised by Mr. Frick, will host a community voter registration drive at the main entrance of the school 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 28.
Western Salisbury Fire Department will host a community dedication ceremony for its new firehouse 11 a.m. Sept. 28. The fire department will have food trucks, a raffle and much more. This new station is a long time in the making and let’s support them with their new home.
Mark your calendars: The Salisbury High School Homecoming parade will be held 5:15 p.m. Oct. 4 beginning at Salisbury Elementary School and ending at SHS just in time for the SHS Homecoming game. SES will hold its annual craft and vendor fair 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 2 at SHS. Vendors and crafters are needed. If you are interested, contact Vanessa Laible at BandVLaible@gmail.com.
The Salisbury Athletic Booster Club will hold a clothing drive 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 2. Drop off your unwanted clothing and other household items at the SHS auxiliary gym and help the booster club. A list of items accepted is available on clothingdrive.net. The truck will pick up donations between noon and 1 p.m.
Elvis is coming to Salisbury Township. He will perform, with the help of Jeff Krick Jr., 2-3:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Eastern Salisbury, 1707 Church Road, Allentown. For reservations, call Louise at 484-456-1148 or 610-866-1611.
The township yard waste drop off sites are open. The Devonshire site will be open Sept. 26 and 28 and the Franko site will be open Sept. 30, Oct. 3 and 5. The sites are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
The Salisbury Township School District is now accepting applications for nominees to this year’s induction to the Alumni Wall of Honor. Applications must be submitted to Superintendent Lynn Fuini-Hetten by Oct. 1. For more information, visit the school district website under Community.
