Bethlehem Catholic’s volleyball team had been rolling through the season, but the Hawks met their match on Monday in a loss to Central Catholic.
The Vikings (8-0) swept the Hawks, handing Becahi (6-1) their first loss of the season. Central has proven to be the cream of the crop this season in District 11, sweeping all their opponents, including Liberty, Parkland and Emmaus.
The Hawks were just the latest victim on Monday night, but look to regroup matches against Dieruff and Northampton this week.
Liberty (5-2) took down Dieruff on Monday and now look forward to a week with Freedom (3-5) and Parkland (6-2) on deck.
Freedom has an important week on tap to try and work their way back into the playoff picture with contests against Whitehall (3-7), Northwestern (4-4), Liberty and Emmaus (7-1).
After a slow start to the year, the Pates have won three of their last five matches coming into the week.
