Ethel F. Harakal, 92, of Whitehall, died Aug. 21, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late George L. Harakal Sr.

Born in Whitehall, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Ann (Yakubecek) Palansky.

She was last employed as a fitter for the former Cross Country Clothes, Northampton, for 32 years before retiring in 1992.

She was a life member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Whitehall, where she was an active member of the newsletter committee.

She also enjoyed volunteering with Northern Valley EMS Ambulance Center’s kitchen crew, North Whitehall Township.

She is survived by two sons, George L. Jr. and wife Amy of Venetia and Dennis K. and wife Cindy of Whitehall; a brother, Edwin Palansky and companion Nancy Mondrick of Walnutport; five grandchildren, Justin, Jeremy, Matthew, Jordan and Travis; and five great-grandchildren, Lily, Nicholas, Nathan, Clayton and Robert.

She was predeceased by a brother, William Palansky; and two sisters, Margaret Palansky and Ann E. Hricinak.

There will be a calling time 1-2 p.m., followed by a memorial service 2 p.m., Sept. 27 at the church, 4331 Main St., Whitehall.
