Coplay: Aerobics class to honor late DeLucia

Coplay aerobics is planning a memorial class to honor the late Donna DeLucia, set for 8:45-9:45 a.m. Sept. 21. DeLucia was the instructor for more than 25 years. She died in 2022 of cancer.

All money raised will be donated to the American Cancer Society in her memory. Join others to honor DeLucia and help the fight against cancer.

The fourth annual Miles for Mental Health — You Are Not Alone 5-K walk/run is set for 9 a.m. Sept. 21 on the Ironton Rail Trail near the Saylor Kilns. Register 8 a.m. at the Coplay Parkway pavilion, Second and Keefer Streets.

All proceeds go to mental health resources. There is a cost.

American Club of Coplay is holding a dance night at its pavilion, 300 Cherry St., Oct. 4. Doors open 5 p.m.

The popular band, Common Bond, is entertaining 7-10 p.m. The kitchen will be open, and there is a cash bar.

There is a cost. Tickets are cheaper when purchased in advance; tickets are available at the club’s hoagie shop, 300 Cherry St., or at the club’s bar and grill, 32 N. Third St.

Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., will have its annual Weinlesefest (grape dance) 3-6 p.m. Oct. 13, sponsored by the Saengerbund’s heritage committee. A special selection of wines, delicious food, a wine-themed singalong, special dances, door prizes and great music are part of the day. Music will be by Emil Schanta Band.

Remember to wear your trachten (German outfits, such as dirndl, lederhosen, vests, hats, etc.).

There is a cost.

If your child or grandchild is a resident of Coplay, graduated from high school this year and is attending college, university, trade school or the police academy, consider applying for a Coplay Scholarship Fund scholarship. Two $5,000 scholarships will be awarded in November.
