At the Sept. 10 meeting of Coplay Borough Council, Councilman Dean Hermany presented a budget review for the 2024 pool season.
The borough realized significant savings, he said.
Despite not meeting the projected income for the season, Hermany said the savings in the general operations had occurred. While the budgeted amount for expenses, such as payroll, utilities, chemicals, supplies and repairs, totaled approximately $95,000, savings of more than $42,000 were realized after expenses had been tallied.
Council also confirmed event and rain dates for upcoming Halloween activities in the borough.
The Halloween parade will be held 7 p.m. Oct. 15. There is no rain date planned.
Trick or treat was approved to take place 6-8 p.m. Oct. 25, with a rain date of Oct. 26.
Borough council will next meet 7 p.m. Oct. 1, for a workshop, and Oct. 8 at the borough municipal building, 98 S. Fourth St.
