Helen Elizabeth Garvey, 76, of Bethlehem - Upper Saucon Township, died July 30, 2024, while in the care of family and the staff of St. Luke’s Home Hospice. Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth Madus. She was the wife of Donald P. Garvey for 47 years.

She graduated from East Stroudsburg University.

She was the deputy director of the Private Industry Council (formerly Career Link) before retiring.

She was a parishioner of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a brother, Msgr. Peter Madus (priest of the Diocese of Scranton); two sisters, Jean Madus and Marie Senor; nieces; nephews; and extended family.
