State Rep. Peter Schweyer, D-134th, is teaming up with Miller-Keystone Blood center to help address a critical shortage of blood supplies in the Lehigh Valley. Lehigh County residents are encouraged to schedule an appointment during the following times: Monday and Wednesday from noon to 7 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. between Sept. 22 and Oct. 3 at Miller-Keystone Blood Center, 740 Hamilton St., Suite 120, Allentown.

Donors are encouraged to call 1-800-223-6667 and mention Group ID: E299 when scheduling their appointment.

Schweyer added he will be proudly rolling up his sleeve to donate blood at 2 p.m. Oct. 3.

His office also will be on site at the blood drive to provide information on state programs and resources and to answer questions on state-related issues.
