Salisbury XC competes at Northampton Invitational

The Salisbury cross country teams competed in the Northampton Invitational Saturday at Bicentennial Park in East Allen Township.

Emerson Juhasz (194th overall) and Cameron Kubinsky (210th overall) led the Falcon boys team as both finished in the top 100 among Class A/2A runners as Juhasz finished 79th and Kubincki 91st against the small-school competition.

Gregory Tenzer (226th/104th) and Rafael Carpo (151st/286th) also competed for the Falcons in the boys varsity race.

In the girls race Saturday, Lydia Fogel finished 170th overall and 77th among Class A/2A runners, followed by teammates Soledad Lausch (232nd/121st) and Rachel McKelvey (239th/127th).

Ryan Hughes of Frankfort won the boys varsity race Saturday with Council Rock taking the team title.

Julia Kelly of Downingtown West took first place in the girls varsity race. Easton won the girls team title.

The Falcons also competed in their first Colonial League regular season meet last week.

Fogel led the Salisbury girls team with a 27th-place finish at the meet against host Southern Lehigh, Northwestern, Pen Argyl, Bangor and Catasauqua. Shelby Tenzer (50th) and Lausch (51st) also ran in the meet, but with just three runners the Falcons were two short of being able to score as a team at the meet.

In the boys meet, Juhasz (24th) and Kubinsky (32nd) led the way, with Tenzer (36th) not far behind. Josh Orach (60th) and Carpo (79th) rounded out the Falcon’s top five. Riley Nemitz (81st) and Lukas Bruaw (85th) also competed in the meet for Salisbury.

The Falcons went 1-2 in boys team scoring, beating Catasauqua but falling to Northwestern and Southern Lehigh.
