The Northwestern girls volleyball team is 3-3 overall and in league play with the season nearing the halfway point.

The Tigers dropped a tight match against Jim Thorpe Monday, falling 3-1 by scores of 12-25, 25-21, 25-10, 25-20.

Northwestern’s Lexi George recorded 19 digs in the match, while Norah Silfies had eight kills.

The Tigers topped Lehighton 3-1 last Thursday, 25-21, 25-14, 19-25, 25-18.

Norah Silfies paced the Tigers with 11 kills and six blocks, while Shannon Green added 26 assists.

After a match Wednesday against Palmerton, Northwestern will have a busy schedule next week when it faces Pottsville Monday, Freedom Tuesday and Pen Argyl Thursday.
