Jay L. Slaughenhoupt, 81, formerly of Lake Wallenpaupack, died Sept. 4, 2024, in Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehabilitation, South Whitehall.

He was a son of the late Earl and Irene (Forsyth) Slaughenhoupt.

The store manager at the former Kmart in Allentown for 40 years, he honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

His survivors include children Shane Slaughenhoupt (fiancée, Karen Smith) of Schnecksville and Sonya Millington (Justin) of Fogelsville; grandchildren Devon Millington, and Emerson and Bryce Slaughenhoupt; several nephews; and one niece.

He was predeceased by brothers William, Earl and Don Slaughenhoupt.

Private services will be at the convenience of the family.
