It’s the last week of the regular season of the East Penn Conference (EPC) golf season, and Liberty and Bethlehem Catholic are headed in different directions.
The perennial power Hurricanes, who are in a transition period this season, believe they can get to the postseason and likely make an impact. They began the week with a
“We played our best round of the year at Allentown against Central Catholic,” said veteran head coach Steve Bradley. “We shot a 391, our lowest total in two years.”
Bradley stated that Adam Unangst shot a two-over par 74; Trent Stahley, a 75; Jake Wachinski, a 77; Cameron Rodriguez, an 82 and Ryan Cummings, an 83.
The Hurricanes had two key matches remaining both at home, meeting Pocono Mountain East Tuesday, and Freedom Wednesday.
“If we win at least one of those, we have a chance to make the league tournament as a team,” added Bradley. “That is our goal. We need to put two more good rounds together this week.”
Despite their record, Bethlehem Catholic has enjoyed their season, one that will help lay a foundation for the future. The Golden Hawks began the week with an overall 5-8 record.
