Emergency Management director earns certification

Pennsylvania law requires the emergency management coordinator at each level of government earn two levels of certification, according to a news release from Lehigh County.

Lehigh County Director of Emergency Management Tanya Hook had previously earned County Coordinator Basic and Advanced Certification under directive 2017-2.

Hook now adds the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency Associate Certification to her extensive list of credentials.

“Public safety is a prerequisite for prosperity, and Lehigh County continues to lead efforts for safe communities,” Lehigh County Director of General Services, Rick Molchany said. “Tanya’s accomplishment is important to securing our safety efforts throughout the many communities of Lehigh County.”

Emergency management is a rapidly evolving field and keeping current technology, policies, programs, and resources available is key to being able to prepare for and respond to a disaster in the Commonwealth.
